Dr.Lee: Hello! Nice to meet you, Sandra.
Sandra: Nice to meet you, too.
Dr.Lee: What seems to be the problem?
Sandra: I have pimples on my face. It’s getting worse lately. I changed soap, skin toner and make-up but it didn’t work at all.
Dr.Lee: When did you start to have the problem?
Sandra: It’s been about a month.
Dr.Lee: Let me check your pulse, tongue and abdomen. Do you have regular bowel movements? It seems that you are having trouble with that.
Sandra: How did you know? Sometimes I get constipated.
Dr.Lee: How often do you have a bowel movement?
Sandra: I think... once a week? Or twice a week. But it’s always hard to finish it. I mean it takes time and it’s so hard that it sometimes looks like pellet.
Dr.Lee: Are you sweating more than before? I mean, comparing now and a month ago.
Sandra: I think so. I also have hot flashes sometimes.
Dr.Lee: Ok. It’s really important to solve your constipation problem. Indigestion, constipation or urination problems can hinder your body heat from properly circulating, thus cause ‘upper heat and lower cold’ condition* which is regarded as a pathological condition in Korean Medicine.

Sandra: I tried many things to ease the constipation but they didn’t work very well.
Dr.Lee: I know. So you will be treated with herbal medicine and moxibustion.
Sandra: Ok, doctor. Can you fix my problem?
Dr.Lee: It’s been only a month and your symptoms are quite typical, so I know you can get better.
Sandra: Thank you doctor.
